Alison Hawthorne Deming is the author, most recently of Zoologies: On Animals and the Human Spirit, as well as eight other books of poetry and nonfiction. She is Agnese Nelms Haury Professor of Environment and Social Justice at the University of Arizona where she teaches in the Creative Writing Program.
