Alison Hawthorne Deming is the author of Zoologies: On Animals and the Human Spirit, as well as many other books of poetry and nonfiction. She is Agnese Nelms Haury Professor Emerita of Environment and Social Justice at the University of Arizona where she taught in the Creative Writing program.
